At Hollin, pupils in Year 1-6 take part in a weekly spelling challenge. Spellings are shared with pupils and sent home with them to learn, ready for the following week.
From Spring 2023, we are going to introduce a 'Spelling Superstar award' across year groups 1-6. Class teams will choose two pupils from their class, to receive the award each half term. They will be presented with our special certificate and their names added to our new display. There are many reasons that pupils could receive this award. Pupils may receive this award for consistently learning their spellings, or for improving their spelling scores week on week.
Here is our 'Spelling Superstar' certificate.
The first recipients of our 'Spelling Superstars' award were announced in assembly on Friday 17th February 2023. Their faces are now proudly displayed on our spelling display and were shared via our Twitter feed. A huge well done to them all.
'Spelling Superstars' for the second Spring term will be announced by Friday 31st March 2023
