Reading Ambassadors are chosen for their love of reading, their willingness to share this passion with others and enthusiasm to promote reading throughout our school.
Following our assembly on Tuesday 21st January 2025, the application period for the Reading Ambassador role opened and pupils in Years 1-6 were invited to apply. There were two reading ambassadors appointed in each class.

Madeleine Lindley visit (December 2024)
On Tuesday 3rd December 2024, the Reading Ambassador team visited Madeleine Lindley Book Centre, in Chadderton.
They were given a tour of the book centre and had the opportunity to browse the wonderful selection of books available. Each member of our Reading Ambassador team were given the opportunity to pick a book of their choice, to take home with them. This was a gesture to say a huge 'thank you' for all they have done for Hollin Primary, since becoming Reading Ambassadors for the school.
Book order (November 2024)
Our Reading Ambassador team met on Tuesday 19th November 2024 to support with a very special book order. They browsed the Miles Kelly catalogue, before carefully selecting a wish list of books for their peers.
World Book Day
Our Reading Ambassador team created some wonderful stickers to share with pupils across school, for World Book Day 2024.
Madeleine Lindley (2023)
On Tuesday 21st November 2023, the Reading Ambassador team visited Madeleine Lindley Book Centre, in Chadderton.
They were given a tour of the book centre, and excitement filled the air. The team were in awe of all of the fabulous books, and listened attentively to what they were being told. Our pupils then had the opportunity to explore the book centre and peruse the books that were available.

Whilst we were at the book centre, we gave 'Wish lists', that the Reading Ambassadors have helped to compile with their classmates. These wish lists give the titles of books that our pupils would like to see added to their class reading areas.
The Reading Ambassador team were a credit to Hollin Primary - well done!
