2nd Autumn Term 2019
This half term we are asking the question 'What Rocks Our World?'
In class we will be covering the following things:
English - Narrative, Reports, Instructions
Maths - Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division
Topic - Plenty of topic themed activities relating to rocks and soils and others areas of the curriculum
French - This is me
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will support learning done in class that week. Please return homework books to school by the following Wednesday.
Children in 3J can change their books as often as they would like. All we ask is that their reading record book is signed to show that they have read at home. Please support your child's reading progress and listen to them each day.
Spellings in Year 3 will be made up of common exception words, spelling patterns that we are learning and topic themed words. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings in preparation for a spelling challenge on a Friday. Spellings will be sent home on a Friday, along with homework to ensure that there is plenty of time given for learning them.
PE for 3J is on a Monday morning with Mr Vyse. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need; black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers and a spare pair of socks. Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. Swimming lessons will continue every Thursday afternoon, children will need to bring a one piece swimsuit/swim shorts (above the knee), towel, bag to put all of their things in and something to tie hair up.
