1st Autumn Term 2018
Welcome back after what I hope has been a fun filled summer break for you all. We have got lots to look forward to this half term and lots of new things to learn.
Please can we ask that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. We appreciate your effort to ensure that your child has the correct uniform and we would like to be able to identify it should it get misplaced.
This half term we are asking the question 'What is it like down under?'
In class we will be covering the following things:
English - Non fiction writing and story writing
Maths - Place value, addition and subtraction
Science - Living things in the local environment (Minibeasts)
Topic - Plenty of topic themed activities from other areas of the curriculum
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will support learning done in class that week. Please return homework books to school by the following Wednesday.
Children in 2B can change their books as often as they would like. All we ask is that their reading record book is signed to show that they have read at home. Please support your child's reading progress and listen to them each day.
Spellings in Year 2 will be made up of common exception words, spelling patterns that we are learning and topic themed words. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings in preparation for a spelling challenge on a Wednesday. Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday to ensure there is plenty of time given for learning them.
PE for 2B is on a Thursday morning with Mr Vyse. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need; black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers and a spare pair of socks. Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name.
