2nd Autumn Term 2019
Our topic for this half term is 'Who Lives on Snow and Ice?'
We will be locating The Arctic and Antarctica on a World map and learning about how it is different to where we live.
In Science we will be learning about Polar animals and how they survive in the Polar Regions.
In English we will be:
Reading stories linked to our topic such as Penguin Small and Lost and Found.
Making up our own Polar stories.
Writing stories - thinking about characters and setting.
Continuing to ensure we use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in our writing.
Reading words with set 2 and 3 sounds in them and ensuring we can read our high frequency words.
In Maths we will be:
Learning the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
Solving addition and subtraction using a number line.
Using the language of greater then/smaller than when comparing numbers.
Counting backwards from 100.
Finding doubles up to 5 and using this knowledge to double bigger numbers.
PE is on a Wednesday - please ensure children have a PE kit in school.
Homework to be returned by Wednesday.
